This is one of the best things about network marketing, you don't have to create your marketing plans or your other business systems. Keeping it a secret is obviously wrong, and another great thing about mlm is that there is no degree needed. To follow the system, you need to be coachable; this is one of the most important factors to your future success. Follow the system, it is ok to follow it in your own style, but follow it, and you will have the greatest chance in achieving the same success that the others who are using that system are having.

A common mistake many people make once they get new team members under them is to slide into the management role, and this is a big mistake early on. What you do your downline will do, and if you are not doing the business and just managing them, they will just manage their downline, or nothing if they do not have a downline. To be the best leader, you need to continually develop relationships, and lead by example.

Knowing about your product and your opportunity is important, and you should become an expert, and this can all be done as you are building your business. You do not need to learn all this stuff before you start building your business. Having had used the product you are selling is very important, however, using it daily for a month is not required. You will be able to leverage 3rd party research to justify what you are selling. The most important thing for a new distributor to do is to use and stick to the system of success the company or upline recommends for success.

If you are the only leader, you have a limited reach. When you begin to notice anyone take leaderships roles, notice them, and encourage them to continue. Teach people to teach others, which helps them develop their leadership skills. Soon enough these people will be self sufficient and they will replicate what you taught them, so they will begin to train and encourage leaders under them. This is one of the beauties of network marketing.
